Why can't we?
Eastern is supposed to be, if u are a believer, sad. A period of sadness. Time to rewind and think about what u've done. Think about how Jesus gave his life for all of us. Think about how u can change and give yourself to people. Think about everyone except yourself. How to share. How to forgive. How to be not u. That's all I got from my catholic school about religion. That's the far I allowed my head to go. Did i believe in all that then? Do I believe in all that now? well sometimes yes, and sometimes NO. Even though im not a religious person, sometimes that sadness really does make sense to me.
I get where they want to get even though i don't agree in the way they try to make us get there. For example, i was watching the news today, and they showed one special about how people in Central America celebrate this holiday. They not only reacted the whole scene of Jesus walking to crusifiction but also they hanged themselfs. They REALLY hang themselfs there. Not an act, same thing Jesus went through. To this i have to say, everything has a limit. I don't think they got the idea at all.
Religious people sometimes take things over the line. Sometimes they order u to do things that seem a little stupid. You can not eat meat this Friday of the year. Why? I dont eat meat any Friday of the whole year, I dont eat meat any Monday either, I don't eat meat any day of the freaking year, im a vegetarian, but when u say I can "NOT" eat it, somehow u make me wanna scream "Bring that fucking steak back here".
8/13/05 - It's probably not a great idea not to go to your medical appoitment when you get the best job they could have probably offered you, just because you want to mantein that perfect record of never taking a blood test.
